Like so many other activities, the World Wide Web has changed the accessibility and quality of "family tree" information. I was surprised to find the depth of information on MY family by simply keying in a few key strokes into Google. Although I knew that my early German ancestors were Lutheran, I did not know they came from Londorf, Germany.

I was also surprised to learn there are several sites providing significant detail on my lineage. Among them:
My SCHLOSSER & SLUSHER lines - genealogy
Peter Schlosser & Maria Margaretha Weschenbach
The following site is a discussion group focused on Slusher family information:

Which cousin are you? I often marveled at how some of my relatives could quickly relate their precise relationship to me -- or others. "Oh, I'm not your Aunt, I'm your 1st cousin, trice removed," one favorite 'Aunt' used to tell me. Here's a useful site to help you calculate those relationships, allowing other relatives to 'marvel' at your in-depth knowledge of genealogy! Check out the "Cousin Calculator!" Cousin Calculator

What's next? Over the past few years, I have collected
approximately half filing cabinet of material on the family including
some original data collected by my cousins (mentioned above), Mary Vernon Slusher and
Clarice (Slusher) Prichard who were very active in
doing original research in
years past. I look forward to
cataloging
that
data on this web site
in the near future. Included in that data is a complete set of mimeographed
(yes, Mimeograph!) copies of the "Slusher Family Organization Newsletter" from
November 2, 1970 (Vol. I, No. 1) through October 1976 (Vol VI, No. 2), the last
issue. Of note, reproductions of some of these newsletters are available
on the web at Slusher Family
Genealogy Forum, thanks to the work of Otis Slusher. I'm also
considering posting them on a future web site (with greater storage capacity
than this present site) in Adobe Acrobat ".pdf" format.
